Pit Road Rumor: Is McLaren Talking to Scale Speed Syndicate?

The silly season may have arrived a little early at Scale Speed Syndicate.

Rumors have begun circulating around pit road that SSS has been in quiet discussions with McLaren regarding a possible future 720S GT3 Evo program.

At this time, Scale Speed Syndicate has neither confirmed nor denied those reports.

Which, naturally, means everybody is now assuming the reports are true.

The current Ford GT LM program remains active, competitive, and very much part of the SSS racing operation. There are no plans to send the Ford out to pasture anytime soon.

However, sources allegedly familiar with the situation claim that an orange-and-black McLaren has attracted more than a little attention inside the SSS garage.

No contracts have been announced.

No official livery has been approved.

No measurements have been taken for decals.

Probably.

When asked for comment, SSS management released the following statement:

“Scale Speed Syndicate does not comment on ongoing manufacturer discussions, hypothetical race programs, suspiciously attractive GT3 cars, or anything currently parked beneath a large unidentified cover.”

For now, the McLaren remains exactly where it belongs:

In the rumor mill.

But around here, rumors have a funny habit of eventually requiring garage space.

Project 720: Rumored. Unconfirmed. Increasingly Difficult to Ignore. 😏🏁

The Ridiculousness Shall Continue.
