SSS DRAG RACING NATIONAL FINALS!

OFFICIAL RACE RESULTS
The pressure was very real this year.
With more than three dozen entries arriving for the SSS Drag Racing National Finals, the Syndicate's defending champion came into the event facing its strongest field yet. Early qualifying did little to calm the garage.
Several cars showed enough speed to threaten the SSS entry, and by the end of preliminary rounds, the margin between the fastest competitors had become uncomfortably small.
So SSS Engineering did what SSS Engineering apparently does best.
They took the engine apart. Again.
A completely revised powerplant was assembled before the final rounds, incorporating a new internal setup, revised gearing, and several changes that Engineering has declined to explain for reasons that are probably unnecessarily dramatic.
The result was immediate.
By the championship rounds, the SSS car had gone from vulnerable to virtually untouchable.
And when the final pass was complete, Scale Speed Syndicate had done it again.
Three straight National Finals championships.
Convenient?
Possibly.
Official?
Absolutely.
FINAL CLASSIFICATION
1. Scale Speed Syndicate SSS Drag Racing Division
NATIONAL CHAMPION — THIRD CONSECUTIVE TITLE
2. Blacktop Racing Works - Strong qualifying performance and fastest reaction time of the semifinal round.
3. Iron Horse Competition - Advanced to the semifinals after one of the closest elimination races of the event.
4. Redline Performance Group - Consistent throughout qualifying; eliminated by SSS in the semifinal.
CHAMPIONSHIP PASS
The final paired Scale Speed Syndicate against Blacktop Racing Works, which had looked capable of ending the SSS winning streak for most of the weekend.
For approximately half a second, that possibility remained extremely convincing.
Then the newly rebuilt SSS engine arrived at the other end of the track first.
Margin of victory: Enough.
THREE YEARS. THREE TROPHIES.
