HERITAGE & LORE

Here's where it all started.

Before there was an internet, websites, emails and entirely too much paperwork, there was simply a kid, a handful of race cars, and a growing inability to leave well enough alone.

This is the story of how a lifelong fascination with speed, competition, and motorsport culture eventually became Scale Speed Syndicate.

[ORIGIN FILE]

Established around 1974, Scale Speed Syndicate™ traces its origins to a young 11-year-old Rick, who became unexpectedly committed to improving the performance of 1/64 scale race cars in an effort to beat his friends during living room Hot Wheels races.

What began with late-night tinkering, homemade modifications, and a healthy competitive streak gradually evolved into a growing collection of race cars, project vehicles, photographs, racing memories, and motorsport-inspired experiments accumulated over decades.

Today, Scale Speed Syndicate™ continues to celebrate and preserve the hobby through racing, vehicle development, historical archives, and a lifelong appreciation for motorsport culture at scale. Along the way, there have been a few questionable garage decisions—but far more good ones than anyone expected.

[THE PERFORMANCE DIVISION]

The SSS Performance Division™ serves as the development and preservation arm of the Syndicate.

Part vehicle workshop, part racing archive, and part highly organized excuse to acquire more tiny race cars, the Division oversees vehicle development, performance testing, documentation, and the preservation of the Syndicate's history.

Within the archive are photographs, project records, race results, vehicle specifications, and evidence of numerous late-night ideas that seemed perfectly reasonable at the time.

While preserving the past remains an important part of the mission, the Performance Division™ remains equally committed to building faster cars, documenting new adventures, and creating the next chapter of Syndicate history.

03

[THE SYNDICATE]

Scale Speed Syndicate™ was never intended to become an organization.

What began as a young racer's fascination with speed gradually evolved into a collection of vehicles, racing memories, project cars, photographs, and stories accumulated over decades of participation in the hobby.

Today, the Syndicate serves as both a celebration of motorsport culture and a record of the people, vehicles, projects, and experiences that helped shape it along the way.

Somewhere between the first race car, the first archive photograph, and the first piece of paperwork, a hobby became something much larger than originally intended.

No one involved is entirely certain where it ends.

"And the garage lights are still on."

[Memo - outside observers / leaked commentary / internal concern.]

[disclaimer] to the concerned outside observer who filed a report claiming this website appears to be "fake." - Well Karen, from Manchester, England. we don't like to name names, but. to answer that question: we like to describe it unofficially as realism presented with unreasonable professionalism, by a man who absolutely should not be this committed to a tiny motorsport operation.
